Safety

Safety Is Our Way.

Everyone goes home. Every day. That commitment shapes how we plan, staff, equip, and run every site we touch.

Six Commitments. No Exceptions.

Leadership Owns It

Safety starts with the people who sign the contracts, not a binder on a shelf. Our owners are on our sites, and the safety standard is set by example — every visit, every walk-through, every decision.

Plan the Work

Every task starts with a plan: hazard assessments, tailgate meetings, utility locates, and traffic and public protection planned before a bucket moves. The safest site is a well-organized one.

Train the People

Competent people make safe sites. Our crews carry the tickets their work requires, and we invest in training that builds careers — especially for the young Indigenous and local workers coming up with us.

Protect the Public

Civil work happens where people live: roads, parks, neighbourhoods, waterfronts. Signage, fencing, traffic management, and clean sites protect everyone who passes by — not just everyone on payroll.

Respect the Environment

Erosion control, spill prevention, and environmental monitoring aren't add-ons; they're scope. Our name means land and water — we protect both on every site.

Improve Relentlessly

Near-misses get reported, incidents get investigated, and lessons change how we work. A safety program that doesn't evolve is a safety program that's failing.

Certifications & Compliance

Illaheechuck maintains WorkSafeBC registration and the insurance coverage our contracts require, and our safety program is built to COR standards. Current clearance letters, certificates of insurance, and program documentation are available to owners and partners on request — contact us and we'll send them same-day.

Hire a contractor that plans like it matters.

Because it does. Ask us for our safety documentation with your bid invitation.
