Pit run and structural fill. 75 mm minus pit run and engineered structural fill for building up pads, filling behind walls, and raising grades, placed in lifts and compacted so it stays where you put it.

Drain rock and clear crush. Clean, washed rock for perimeter drains, french drains, retaining wall backfill, and septic fields, where fines would plug the system.

Sand and bedding. Pipe bedding sand, concrete sand, and fill sand for utility trenches, slabs, and paver bases.

Rip-rap and armour rock. Sized rock for shoreline protection, ditch armouring, culvert ends, and rock walls.

Topsoil and landscape materials. Screened topsoil and fill for final grading and lawns once the civil work is done.

Here's the difference between an aggregate supplier and a civil contractor: we can finish the job. A pile of road base on a driveway is a Saturday of raking that still ends up soft in the wheel tracks. Spread to depth, graded to shed water, and compacted with the right equipment, the same material becomes a driveway that stays flat for years.

We place and compact gravel for driveways and parking areas, building and shop pads, equipment yards, access roads, and trench backfill, with grades set by our own layout crew and compaction verified with density testing where the design calls for it. On engineered pads and road structures, lift thickness, moisture, and compaction are done to the geotechnical spec and documented.

Gravel driveways are the most common call we get. Done properly, a Campbell River driveway is a stripped subgrade, a geotextile where the ground is soft, a compacted pit run or crushed base, and a compacted 19 mm minus surface crowned to drain, with a culvert at the road if the ditch needs it. Done cheaply, it's a load of gravel on top of mud, and you'll order it again next spring.
